Super Bowl most-watched programme ever

CBS's coverage averaged 106.5m between 7pm and 10pm, easily topping last year's 98.7m for the Cardinals vs. Steelers game. It also overtook the 1983 series finale of M*A*S*H (105.97m) to become the most-watched programme of all time.
The other networks opted to air repeats against the game. Fox's animated comedy lineup performed as follows: The Simpsons and The Cleveland Show logged 2.93m and 2.45m during the 8pm hour, then 3.07m watched Family Guy at 9pm. American Dad followed at 9.30pm, drawing 3.07m.
ABC's Modern Family-centric night started with 2.81m tuning in at 8pm, then the 9pm show grabbed 2.5m. The two screenings during the 10pm hour had 3.88m and 3.57m. The Middle and Cougar Town interested 2.27m and 2.58m at 8.30pm and 9.30pm respectively.
Over on NBC, a three-hour marathon of The Biggest Loser: Couples averaged 1.87m across primetime.
