Kevin Alejandro details 'True Blood' role

Kevin Alejandro explained his character's part in the upcoming season of HBO's True Blood.

Alejandro will play the love interest for blood dealer and male prostitute Lafayette, the character played by Nelsan Ellis. Most recently, Alejandro played police detective Nate Moretta on TNT's Southland, which returns for its third season this summer.

"They're really completely opposite characters. It's what every actor really wants," Alejandro told Entertainment Weekly.

When asked if his character is a vampire, the actor said that he is unsure.

"I'm introduced pretty early in this next season as a caretaker for Lafayette's mother, who's played by Alfre Woodard," he said. "I'm his love interest, and that's all I can say. It unwinds tremendously - I mean, you know True Blood. There's a lot of stuff going on."

The third season of True Blood, starring Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, will air in June of this year.
