DS witnessed the chatshow host leading the Vancouver-born crooner in a rendition of the Canadian national anthem to the tune of 'The Star-Spangled Banner'.
On a stage featuring a life-size moose, a snow machine and Colbert's "Defeat the World" poster, the two talked about Bublé's Canadian citizenship, gold medal winner Alexandre Bilodeau and Canada's chances in Olympic hockey.
Other guests included captain of the US's "Miracle on Ice" hockey team Mike Eruzione, NBC Sports anchor Bob Costas and former provincial leader Ujjal Dosanjh in a take-off of his 'Better Know a District' segment, 'Better Know a Riding'.
The comedian was mobbed by fans before taking to the stage.
"This is the politest mob I've ever been in the middle of," he said.
