Leno: 'It's good to be back on Tonight'

Jay Leno joked that it was "good to be home" during his first monologue since returning to The Tonight Show.

The star reprised his position on the chatshow last night, nine months after he initially left the broadcast for primetime.

Speaking during his opening monologue, he said: "It's good to be home. I'm Jay Leno, your host... at least for a while.

"I'll admit I'm a little bit nervous, not because it's my first night back, but because I know Dave [Letterman] and Oprah [Winfrey] are watching."

Leno has replaced departed Tonight host Conan O'Brien, who left NBC earlier this year after the network suggested moving his show to a later slot.

His return guests were Jamie Foxx, Brad Paisley and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn.
