'Nip/Tuck' star 'wanted more from finale'

However, the actor, who played Dr Sean McNamara on the FX drama, said that he believes the tone of the episode was "a smart way to go".
"It's been a strange thing for seven years to be waiting for the fate of Sean McNamara - my fate essentially," he told TV Guide.
"I remember when I was reading the script, I was thinking, 'Wow, I would have expected more from Ryan [Murphy, creator] - more fireworks, more insanity'. And he clearly made the choice that he didn't need to do that, but instead just to find where these guys go."
He added: "It always was what he wanted it to be, which was a love story between two heterosexual men. It was going to take something extremely righteous and good for Sean to persuade him to get out of that marriage."
