The Oscars 2010 draws audience of 39.2m

The Oscars 2010 was the most-watched programme during Sunday night primetime, according to early viewing figures.

The Awards coverage, which aired between 8.30pm and 11pm, averaged 39.24m for ABC. Earlier, at 8pm, the red carpet interviews drew 31.6m.

Over on CBS, The Amazing Race logged 8.05m at 8pm, then reruns of Undercover Boss and Cold Case drew 6.49m and 5.35m at 9pm and 10pm respectively.

A double bill of Simpsons repeats managed 4.68m and 4.98m during the 8pm hour for Fox, then two Family Guy reruns took 5.59m and 5.53m at 9pm.

Bad Boys II averaged 3m for NBC across primetime.
