The former Felicity star is teaming up with Arrested Development's Mitch Hurwitz and alumnus Will Arrnett for a single-camera romantic comedy called Wilde Kingdom, reports Entertainment Weekly.
She is said to play Arnett's humanitarian love interest while the actor himself plays a wealthy, self-obsessed playboy named Steve Wilde.
Russell has focused mainly on features since Felicity ended in 2002.
However, she has said that she isn't against a return to the small screen.
"If the right project came along she would consider it. It all comes down to the material," according to a source in her camp.
