Fox network execs are allegedly pressuring their local affiliate stations to keep the 11pm to 12am timeslot open for Conan O'Brien.

According to TMZ, the former Tonight Show host and network bosses are "seriously talking" but no deals have been made.

It is believed that a number of the affiliates in question are resistant to running an O'Brien late-night show because they would make more money with reruns of established series like The Office.

Several bosses at various local stations have said that they were pressured into taking an O'Brien programme on by Fox.

A deal between the channel and comedian is said to be "imminent".
