Skeet Ulrich for CBS medical drama

Skeet Ulrich has been tapped for a role in an untitled medical drama on CBS.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the former Jericho star will play a doctor on a mobile medical team that travel the US lending aid to patients who can't get to a hospital.

His character was written as a cardiologist with "rock star good looks" and is a single parent who is still in love with his junkie ex-wife.

This will be the third time that the network has cast the actor in a project, first with Jericho and then last year's failed pilot Back.

The script for the new show was written by Hannah Shakespeare and produced by John Wells.
