CBS orders cooking reality show

CBS has ordered a new culinary competition show from the producer of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Beat the Chefs is to pit professional chefs against amateur cooks, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Tom Forman with Relativity Media will produce the show, the network's first foray into the genre.

Episodes will feature a staff of family and friends preparing a recipe that will be duplicated by the professionals. Judges decide on the best dish and the winner receives a cash prize.
