Us Weekly reports that Sarah Palin's Alaska, about the politician's home state, will run for eight episodes.
The project will be produced by Survivor's Mark Burnett who has previously insisted that it will not be "salacious".
TLC allegedly won a bidding war with A&E to secure the rights to the programme. A premiere date has not yet been confirmed.
