The project, based on New Zealand show Outrageous Fortune, centres on the matriarch of a family of con artists who decides to change her ways when her husband is sent to prison.
Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen is slated to star. Elliot will play the husband.
Elliot recently appeared in the miniseries Impact and The Storm.
