According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network renewed the Jerry Seinfeld-produced reality series for a 13-episode season two.
The broadcaster also ordered more episodes of Minute to Win It and Who Do You Think You Are?.
Ref features a panel of celebrities commenting on the married lives of average Americans.
The programme has averaged 7.2 million viewers in its Thursday night timeslot.
"It's doing a good job for us. It's certainly noisy. We've seen the show find its feet," NBC programming executive Paul Telegdy said about the series.
He added: "We think it's a show that's improving, and we've got high hopes for it."
NBC is expected to tweak the show's format as it continues to air.
