Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! have been renewed through to 2014.
According to Variety, both gameshows were scheduled to end in 2012.
Terms of the renewal were not clear but local ABC stations, reportedly severely hurt by the ad recession and slow economy, were looking for better deals than the one signed in 2007.
Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek and Wheel of Fortune emcee Pat Sajak have also allegedly extended their respective contracts.
Both programmes are produced by Sony Pictures Television and sold by CBS Television Distribution.
