It was reported last week that Sony Pictures was meeting with DirecTV in an attempt to share the cost of the programme's production. Inside sources now say that DirecTV has not agreed to support the FX drama.
If Damages is to continue, backer Sony must make drastic cuts to the ratings-challenged show's production price tag.
The Glenn Close-fronted drama's season three finale is scheduled to air on April 19.
