Entertainment Weekly reports that the former Scrubs star has signed up to appear in Team Spitz.
The single-camera sitcom, set in a high school, will also feature Rob Riggle as a football coach.
Chalke is expected to play a guidance counsellor on the show.
However, she is currently billed as a guest star because the project is in second place to her other pilot, ABC's Freshman.
