Comedy Central orders 'Onion Sports' show
Published Wednesday, Apr 14 2010, 19:17 BST | By Mike Moody

The programme will debut in the first quarter of next year. The scripted sports-centred news parody show takes jabs at players, teams, fans and TV coverage.
"The Onion has such credibility in the comedy world, we feel fortunate to partner with them," said Comedy Central's Kent Alterman.
He added: "They will skewer the sports world, and the media coverage of sports, with the same sharpness we've seen applied to the world of politics and popular culture."
The show is based on the Onion Sports Network online video series.
