The series, titled Basketball Wives, premiered last week.
In a letter to VH1 obtained by TMZ, O'Neal's lawyer Michael J. Klump asks that the cable network halt production on "any further episodes of Basketball Wives which make any reference to Mr O'Neal".
Klump claims that Shaunie could be violating a confidentiality agreement that she signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers star concerning their private life together.
VH1 has yet to respond to the request.
The couple filed for divorce in March.
