Deadline claims that the network asked for six further screenplays after failing to pick up the show for a full series.
The programme, written by Life creator Rand Ravich, stars Tom Kavanagh as a police psychologist who works as a bounty hunter at night.
Rumours have previously suggested that the USA Network could order the show if ABC decides not to pick it up.
