The British series stars Billie Piper as Belle de Jour and focuses on her double life as an author and an escort.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime has now decided to broadcast the eight new half-hour episodes.
It is thought that the programme's fourth season will be its last, although reports have suggested that a movie adaptation could be made.
Secret Diary is expected to air on Showtime early next year.
