'SGU' for 'Atlantis' crossover

Writing on his blog, Mallozzi revealed that plans for a crossover were developed when filming on the upcoming Atlantis television movie Stargate: Extinction was postponed.
He wrote: "There was a reluctance to move ahead with an [Atlantis] crossover, particularly on my part, because the feeling was it would step on the timing of... Stargate: Extinction, the events of which directly proceed the Atlantis series finale".
The showrunner explained that as a result of the delay and "the ideal premise pitched out by Remi Aubuchon and Brad Wright, it was decided to go ahead with the crossover".
Mallozzi added that work on the script was in progress. He also confirmed that the original Stargate Atlantis actors had recently signed up for the episode.
Robert C. Cooper, co-creator of both shows, recently announced that he would be taking a step back from the Stargate franchise.
