The show has previously spoofed both A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, while a third episode parodying Return of the Jedi will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 21.
However, speaking at the Family Guy panel at Comic-Con, MacFarlane denied that the programme will continue the trend and parody the three Star Wars prequel films.
"I don't think we'll be going that route," he said. "They're just too expensive. LucasFilm has been really great to us [this far]."
He also revealed that another popular film franchise could be featured on the show in the future.
"We may tackle Indiana Jones," said MacFarlane. "But we're going to take a break [from the parodies] first."
The ninth season of Family Guy will premiere on Fox on September 26.
