The network is currently producing a reworked pilot for the show, which is based on Wallace's book of the same name.
Deadline reports that both writers, who also served as executive producers on the original pilot, have now left the project.
Danny Wallace confirmed to DS that the pair's exit had been amicable.
He explained: "I'm happy to say absolutely nobody quit Awkward Situations for Men, though we are, together with producer David Heyman, building an exciting new team. One which I'm pretty certain will not lead to any awkward situations of its own!"
The new comedy will follow Wallace as he moves to the US with his wife, only to discover that his everyday behaviour clashes with American values and gets him into trouble.
Arrested Development star Tony Hale and That '70s Show actress Laura Prepon will also appear.
Wallace previously admitted that working on the comedy was "surreal".
