It was announced in March that former Saved by the Bell star Mark-Paul Gosselaar would appear in the legal series alongside Breckin Meyer. McDowell will play Stanton Infeld, the head of a law firm which recruits young lawyers Steven Bash (Gosselaar) and Jared Franklin (Meyer).
He told TV Guide: "We get all these marvelous adventures [on the show], and it's driven by the characters and the situations and the drama."
The actor admitted that he would be baffled if the show is not a success.
"We have really great writers, so if we can't make it a really good show there's something wrong with us," he said.
A pilot for Franklin & Bash was filmed earlier this year. The series was originally developed by TBS but was later commissioned for ten episodes by TNT.
