Satellite operator DirecTV has signed up for a US version of CD:UK, Broadcast said today.
CD:USA will adopt a similar format, studio and graphics to its UK counterpart but will be backed by a higher budget. The show, DirecTV's first ever original commission, will premiere at 11am on January 21, then airing continuously for 48 hours on a channel called 'The 101'. New episodes will premiere each Saturday.
DirecTV has initially committed to 52 weeks of the chart show, with an option to pick it up for a further two years beyond that.
