As NBC's West Wing gears up for a fictional presidential election, a real-world polling firm has released data on which candidate viewers would prefer to win.
Zogby International surveyed 4,492 respondents, all of whom regularly watch the show this season. 59% of those surveyed voted for Democratic Rep. Matthew Santos (Jimmy Smits), while 29% voted for Republican Sen. Arnold Vinick (Alan Alda).
Zogby also polled respondents on their opinions of outgoing Democratic President Josiah Bartlet (Martin Sheen). The data indicated Bartlet has a job approval rating of 75%.
This Sunday in the US, NBC will air a live, hour-long West Wing debate.
