Caan recently tore a ligament while filming a stunt scene for the police show.
However, E! Online claims that Caan's character Danno will now hurt himself because of McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin).
In the episode, the pair reportedly visit the doctor's surgery and when the medic asks if Danno has suffered any trauma, he replies: "I've got a partner - this guy is a physical injury!"
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the show insisted that Caan's injury will not affect production and showrunner Peter Lenkov joked: "Working with McGarrett, you're bound to get a few bumps and bruises along the way."
Caan is expected to return to work on Hawaii Five-0 on August 23. The CBS show will premiere on September 20.
