TV Guide reports that the actress will play a character named Naomi in a forthcoming episode.
The character will be attracted to Lightman (Tim Roth) but will become frustrated with his lie-detecting skills. He will later begin to question her loyalties when she is threatened by a violent ex-boyfriend.
Helfer is known for her role as Number Six on Battlestar Galactica. More recently, she has featured in episodes of Two and a Half Men and Dark Blue.
Other guest stars confirmed for the new season of the crime drama include Annette O'Toole and Breaking Bad star Anna Gunn.
The second season of Lie To Me concludes on September 13. The crime drama will return to Fox on November 10.
