The pilot will be Raimi's first project since his production company Stars Road Entertainment signed a development deal with Sony TV.
Deadline reports that the project - titled Lancaster - will follow a Scotland Yard detective who joins the LAPD.
Evil Dead creator Raimi and partner Joshua Donen will oversee production of the series.
The police drama will be written by Andrew Lipsitz, who has previously worked on CSI and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
