The new sitcom, from The Big Bang Theory creator Chuck Lorre, follows a couple who find love at Overeaters Anonymous.
TV Guide says that King has now joined the cast as the grandmother of Mike's partner Officer Carl McMillan (Reno Wilson).
King, who has previously starred in Deadwood and Sons Of Anarchy, is expected to appear in seven episodes of the series.
Mike & Molly premieres on September 20 on CBS.
