Deadline reports that Kourtney Kang and Joe Kelly will co-write the new project.
The currently untitled multi-camera sitcom will explore a couple's life both before and after they have children. The pilot is said to have been bought by ABC after a bidding war involving multiple networks.
20th Century Fox TV - the studio behind How I Met Your Mother - will produce the series.
Kang joined Mother after the pilot episode, while Kelly was added to the writing team at the beginning of the third season. The pair previously worked with Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas on aborted CBS sitcom pilot Livin' on a Prayer.
