John Larroquette for 'CSI: NY' role

John Larroquette is to play a recurring role in the seventh season of CSI: NY.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the actor will appear in multiple episodes as Deputy Chief Ted Carver.

Described as "savvy" and "hard-nosed", Carver will clash with Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) when a sniper begins targeting New York citizens.

Larroquette previously played Carl Sack on Boston Legal and has also appeared in episodes of House and Chuck.

CSI: NY will return to CBS on September 24. Larroquette will make his first appearance on November 5.
