'Falling Skies' exec hints at alien plot

The sci-fi series will star Noah Wyle and Moon Bloodgood as survivors in a post-apocalyptic world.
"These aliens have a plan, but it's a slowly unfolding plan, so don't expect an answer in the pilot," he told SFX. "But I think we can be sure that there's meaning behind what they're doing, and what they're doing is very strange."
Verheiden explained that the show will instead focus on the plight of the human survivors as they struggle to survive in the aftermath of the invasion.
"It's about people who go up against overwhelming odds and find great heroism inside themselves and still hold on to their families," he said. "A key note of the show is not losing what made you human."
Produced by Steven Spielberg, Falling Skies will air on TNT in 2011.
