'SGU' star: 'Eli will be more like Rush'

Stargate Universe star David Blue has revealed that his character Eli's relationship with Rush (Robert Carlyle) is key to the show's second season.

The actor told Collider that the two characters are quite similar in nature.

"I've always loved... that relationship," he explained. "It's part of what drew me to the character. I always thought that Rush and Eli looked at each other as different versions of themselves."

Blue suggested that Eli could become more like the sinister Rush in future episodes.

"There are a few things that happen to Eli [in season two] that push him to that precipice where he is about to become [like] Rush, and the people around him have to pulll him back," he claimed.

He added: "Eli looks at Rush as a cautionary tale. He sees him as someone he could become if he made the wrong choices [and] if he didn't trust in other people."

Stargate Universe will return to Syfy on September 28.
