'SGU' exec: 'New season will be fun'

Cooper told SFX that he was aware of some viewers' negative reaction to the programme's grim tone.
"[That] was certainly a reaction to the show that we took to heart," he admitted. "That [tone] came from wanting to create characters that had challenges before them."
He explained that the crew of the Destiny will gradually begin to embrace their predicament.
"I think it's important that we recommit our characters to the adventure of being aboard Destiny and make sure that we don't turn off viewers who would, in their fantasy world, love to be on that adventure," said the producer.
He added: "It's not going to happen overnight [but we] will get all of our characters to... evaluate their purpose for being on the Destiny, even to the point [where] if an opportunity to go home would come up, they would choose to stay."
The new season of Stargate Universe begins on September 28 on Syfy.
