The actress, who starred in the original Melrose Place, will appear in psychological thriller He Loves Me, which will air on the network in 2011.
Locklear will play Laura, an apparently happily married mother with a successful career, whose life begins to unravel when she discovers her husband's affair. Despite her own infidelity, Laura tries to save her marriage but is thrown into a spiral of paranoia, delusion and violence.
Recently, Locklear revisited her character Amanda Woodward for the Melrose Place reboot, alongside Katie Cassidy and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.
He Loves Me is the second major Lifetime project to be reported this week. On Monday, it was revealed that Hayden Panettiere would star as convicted murderer Amanda Knox in a film slated for next year.
However, the future of The Amanda Knox story is potentially in jeopardy after lawyers for the Seattle-born title character said that they would block the film because of her ongoing appeal.
