The 'Teenage Dream' singer told Access Hollywood that she plans to turn her musical performance on the sketch comedy show's season opener into a "celebration".
"This summer's been so fantastic for me, so I wanted to come back with kind of, like, a bit of, like, the end of the summer, you know, uh, celebration," she said.
Perry also joked that she will be prepared if the NBC show's writers cast her in a sketch.
She explained: "I'm hoping they will let me do a skit. I brought my whipped cream boobs, so if they do a sketch involving like a barista, you know, coffee making, I could be helping people out and stuff like that."
Special guest host Amy Poehler is to join musical guest Perry on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on NBC.
