The stars of the 1965 Oscar-winning musical will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show on October 29, Harpo Productions said.
Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer will both appear, along with the actors who played the fictional von Trapp family. The cast will discuss the impact of the film and how their involvement in it shaped their lives.
Some members of the real von Trapp family are also expected to appear to pay tribute to the movie, although none of the cast are believed to be performing numbers from the show.
The Sound of Music won five Academy Awards, while its soundtrack has gone 12 times platinum on international sales.
