CNN heavily promoting Dobbs' return
Published Tuesday, May 8 2001, 16:12 BST | By James Welsh
The return of Lou Dobbs, a founding member of CNN's Financial News division, to flagship programme Moneyline News Hour is now being heavily promoted across CNN, CNNfn and CNNI.
Dobbs' decision to return to CNN was announced last month. In addition to returning to the anchor chair on Moneyline, he will also be lead business news anchor on CNN/U.S. and CNNfn - and will contribute his 19 years experience with CNN to a new venture, CNN Money. CNN Money will replace CNNfn as the group's main financial news cable network, and will draw together content sources from AOL Time Warner, parent company of CNN.
Dobbs commented:
"The men and women of CNN are in my view the best news team in the world, and counting myself among them has been the highlight of my professional career. I look forward to working with this great team again to further distinguish CNN’s business news coverage on-air and online as the sharpest, most insightful and authoritative reporting available on the stories that are shaping our lives."
On-air promotions are now running on CNN, CNNfn and CNNI ahead of Dobbs' return to Moneyline on 14 May. The programme airs 6:30pm ET on CNN and CNNfn, and at 23:30BST on CNN International.
