Deadline reports that Jack Black is producing the show, which is based on the non-fiction book Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life As An Experiment.
The project focuses on a journalist whose life is affected by the various assignments he is given.
Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, who previously worked on The King Of Queens, 'Til Death and Big Day, will write and executive produce the show.
NBC is also thought to be working on a remake of The Munsters, a show starring Lost's Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn, a comedy from Mo Mandel and a pilot about a CIA agent.
