It was announced last week that NBC have ordered a pilot for a new version of the supernatural comedy, which will be written by Dead Like Me creator Bryan Fuller. However, Butch Patrick, who starred in the 1960s series, has said that the reboot will not be a success.
"Honestly, it should be left alone," Patrick told TMZ. "I think it shows they are desperate for content.
"Unless they get Brad Garrett to play Herman, it's not going to do well!" Patrick added, referring to the 6ft 8 inch Everybody Loves Raymond actor.
Patrick starred in the original series as Eddie Munster, a child werewolf, alongside Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster.
A colour continuation of the series called The Munsters Today aired from 1988 to 1991 with an entirely new cast.
