The actress told Collider that Blye is initially wary of her new partner, played by Eric Christian Olsen.
"She's not entirely that fond of him," explained Ruah. "I think he's quite fascinated by her. She's like Jason Bourne [because] her dad taught her to do everything, and I think Deeks is quite fascinated by that."
She confirmed that viewers will discover more about both characters as the second season of the crime drama continues.
"She's not one to let men get too close, too quickly, so it's going to be a really fun development for those characters," she said. "You'll discover more and more things about each character and their personal lives."
Ruah also praised her new co-star Olsen, claiming that the actor had "easily entered" a "well-established group".
"[Eric] brings rhythm [and] he brings a lot of humour," she claimed. "The banter between Deeks and Kensi is something the audience is really going to appreciate."
NCIS: Los Angeles continues this Tuesday at 9/8c on CBS.
