The Terminator star has joined the show this season as Chuck's mother Mary Bartowski and revealed that she likes the light-hearted nature of the series.
"That's the reason I really wanted to do it," she told TV Guide. "It has such a light touch. When I watched the show, I actually laughed out loud a few times. I love the fact that it doesn't take itself too seriously."
She added: "It's glamorous, it's fun. It's back to the TV I did in the '80s. I mean, the clothes are better!"
However, Hamilton admitted that she does not know what is in store for Mary, saying: "I still know almost nothing. It's the most vague kind of acting. I went into work the first day and did three scenes where I'm shooting people. I'm like, 'Am I the good girl?' [The writers] are like, 'Hmm, we don't know'."
Hamilton, who is expected to appear in between four and seven episodes, also revealed that she does not know how long she will be on the show.
"They always warn you, 'We kill our actors now'," she explained.
Chuck continues tonight at 8/7c on NBC.
