The network is working with Made Of Honour scribe Adam Sztykiel on the project, Deadline says.
Man Of The House, which is also being penned by Big Bang Theory writer Rob Cohen, is said to be a role-reversal sitcom similar to the movie Mr. Mum.
The show is being produced by ABC Studios and Mark Gordon Co, which has previously worked on Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Army Wives.
NBC is already developing a number of shows including a comedy produced by Jack Black and a revival of The Munsters.
