The live-action project created by American Dad co-executive producers Murray and Judah Miller will have a musical component, according to Deadline.
Valderrama, both Millers and Saturday Night Live writer Akiva Schaffer will executive produce the venture with the Miller brothers tapped to direct the potential pilot.
20th Century Fox TV, where That '70s Show actor Valderrama signed an exclusive development deal last July, is producing the show.
Valderrama will next be seen on the big screen in Spike Lee-produced The Girl Is In Trouble, From Prada To Nada and Tom Hanks's Larry Crowne.
