The controversial title sequence created by UK graffiti artist Banksy for The Simpsons has aired in the US.

Showing his tag across various Springfield landmarks, Banksy's intro also features Bart Simpson writing his blackboard lines - 'I must not write all over the walls' - across his classroom.

The titles for the episode, named 'MoneyBart', close with a dark segment showing sweatshop workers producing Simpsons merchandise in a warehouse.

BBC News reports that the sequence was inspired by claims that the Fox show outsourced a bulk of their animation to a company in South Korea.

Banksy has said that that his storyboard led to disputes and threats from the animation department to walk out.

Executive producer Al Jean commented: "This is what you get when you outsource."

The episode will be broadcast on Sky1 on October 21.
