IGN reports that the show, also titled Napoleon Dynamite, has received an initial order of six episodes.
Original film star Jon Heder will reprise his role as Napoleon for the series and it is expected that much of the original cast will return, including Efren Ramirez as Pedro and Aaron Ruell as Kip.
The has been no announcement on when the new series will premiere.
