ABC develops 'Romeo & Juliet' series

ABC is reportedly developing a new television drama based on William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet.

The pilot episode will be adapted by World Trade Centre writer Andrea Berloff, according to TV Guide.

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is also said to be in talks to helm the pilot.

The project will be executive produced by Todd Garner, Wyck Godfrey and Mary Bowen.
