The new season of Buffy will open with a two-hour special on UPN, it has been revealed.
The programme will "re-introduce the premise of a young woman who's destined to defend humanity from the things that go bump in the night for new viewers, while moving the story set up by writers Joss Whedon and Marti Noxon forward for faithful fans," according to Zap2it.
The new Star Trek series, Enterprise, will also open with a two-hour edition.
Whilst start dates have yet to be confirmed, UPN plans on beginning its new schedule in August, a month ahead of the other main networks.
