She told TV Guide that a forthcoming episode will see the introduction of Jo's ex-husband, played by Scoundrels star David James Elliot.
"There's a little hint of him wanting [Jo] back," she said. "It's a relationship of his pursuit, and she's not completely resistant to it."
Veasey explained that the audience's reaction to the upcoming storyline could determine how the relationship between Mac and Jo will develop in the future.
"I can't wait for it to air because I want to know if the audience wants [the ex-husband] to be around, or go, 'No! We want her to be with Mac'. I think the audience will definitely think there's a triangle in motion."
